For FWD Big 3 Critical Illness, cancer would mean any malignant tumour positively diagnosed with histological confirmation and characterised by the uncontrolled growth of malignant cells and invasion of tissue. Heart attack refers to the death of heart muscle due to inadequate blood supply. Stroke refers to the death of brain tissue due to inadequate blood supply, bleeding within the skull or embolisation from an extra cranial source resulting in permanent neurological deficit with persisting clinical symptoms. </p><p>There's an optional add-on to the plan to cover 24 conditions that affect brain and heart function including coronary artery disease and cardiac pacemaker insertion.</p><p>Read the detailed medical definitions of the critical illnesses covered in this certificate.</p></div>
