What is deductible?

<p><span>A deductible is an upfront amount you pay before your plan covers the rest of your bill. Deductibles are offered in medical plans to help reduce your contribution amount.<br /></span><span>FWD Takaful will cover the eligible expenses in excess of the deductible for each year. Therefore, you only pay the deductible once per certificate year.</span></p>
<p>You can also choose not to have a deductible. In this case, your plan will cover the bill without you having to make any payment beforehand.</p>

Restoration benefit

<p style="margin-bottom: 64px;">Restoration benefit lets you restore your annual limit should you have fully utilised the annual limit within the same certificate year.<br />Upon request, you can restore RM50,000 under the Medical Plus plan, and RM150,000 under the Medical Pro plan. This restoration can be done once per lifetime.</p>

This medical card will help to cover your medical bills, such as hospitalisation, inpatient and outpatient treatments, specialist consultations, medications, companion beds and more. There are many options in the market, offering different annual limit options, coverage types, benefits, and they typically allow cashless admissions in hospitals. Insurers and takaful providers may provide a physical card, stating the policyholder / certificate owner’s name and policy / certificate number, or a digital (online) medical card that can be accessed via an app. A medical card is necessary in your wealth protection portfolio as it allows you to access quality healthcare without having to worry about costly medical bills while you are recovering.</p></div>

<div style="background-color: #F8F9F9;border-radius: 16px;padding: 16px 32px;margin-bottom: 24px;"><span style="font-size: 39px;font-weight: 700;line-height: 48px;color: #E87722;">02</span><h4 style="font-size: 20px;font-weight: 700;line-height: 25px;margin-bottom: 16px;">What is covered by a medical card?</h4><p>A medical card typically covers medical-related expenses, which may include hospitalisation and surgery, in-patient and out-patient treatments, room and board, specialist consultations, and medications.</p><p>FWD Medical Care+ provides the following coverage:</p><ol style="list-style-type: lower-alpha;"><li>Inpatient and outpatient medical benefits<br />If the person covered under this certificate is hospitalised or undergoing a surgery due to sickness or accidental injury or requires outpatient treatment for accidents and emergencies, we will provide the eligible benefits listed in the Schedule of Benefits under this certificate.</li><li>Compassionate benefit<br />To further enhance your coverage, the plan pays RM5,000 in a lump sum as compassionate benefit upon receiving the death certificate of the person covered due to all causes.</li><li>Accidental death benefit<br />The plan pays an additional RM25,000 in a lump sum if the person covered dies due to an accident.</li><li>Restoration benefit<br />Upon request, you are allowed to restore your annual limit to the initial amount limit upon the full utilisation of the limit in the same certificate year.
