Kuala Lumpur, 23 March 2021 – FWD Takaful Berhad (“FWD Takaful”) has recently launched FWD ADD Rider, an added coverage designed to provide benefits upon accidental death and dismemberment (ADD) including medical expenses, financial and mental health coverage. The rider also provides optional unique benefits to complement the main accidental coverage.

What’s more, FWD ADD Rider is currently our only takaful rider that offers mental health coverage. The main benefits of the FWD ADD Rider will cover customers and their family in the following instances:

• Accidental Death or Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) benefit pays 100% of the sum covered.
• Dismemberment benefit covers loss of use or loss of body parts due to an accident, depending on the severity of the injury.
• Triple Indemnity benefit pays 300% of the sum covered upon accidental death or TPD if the accident occurs in a public transport.
• Compassionate benefit provides an accidental death benefit amount of RM5,000 to help with funeral arrangements.

For greater reassurance, customers can also maximise their accident coverage with the following optional benefits:

• Medical Reimbursement benefit up to RM20,000 per year.
• Purchase of Orthopaedic Equipment benefit up to RM3,000 per accident.
• Alternative Medical Treatment benefit up to RM3,000 per accident.
• Monthly Income benefit of up to RM5,000 for 60 or 120 months payable upon TPD.
• Weekly Indemnity benefit payable up to 75% of the person covered’s weekly income.
• Mental Care benefit provides reimbursement on psychiatrist consultation fees up to RM25,000 for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Adjustment Disorder (AD).
