Introducing FWD Kasih: Affordable takaful for all

Launched in 2020, FWD Kasih is a term microtakaful product that aims to provide protection to low-income communities. FWD Kasih plan starts from as low as RM2.03/month – barely the cost of a Teh Tarik at your local mamak!

This plan was created specially to provide adequate takaful protection while still being considerate of your costs for your peace of mind. At FWD Takaful, we want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to protect their finances and future. We designed this takaful protection plan after conducting research with the University Utara Malaysia (UUM) on how best to serve our B40 community.

The research showed us that to make this product accessible for our underserved communities, we had to design it with both adequate protection and affordable price point in mind. Our work with FWD Kasih also features multiple collaborations with organisations like Touch n’ Go, FoodPanda, and local universities to help spread financial literacy and takaful awareness knowledge as the first step in their takaful journey.

FWD Kasih provides cover from the age of 19 to 54 years old for those with a monthly household income of up to RM5,000, paying the full sum covered upon death due to natural causes and Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), and 200% of the sum covered on death due to accidental causes. There are four plan options: choose a sum covered of RM10,000, RM20,000, RM30,000 or RM40,000.

Financial inclusivity is important to us, and at FWD Takaful we strongly believe that income should not be a barrier to protection. We’re committed to providing access to takaful coverage to the most vulnerable group of people in our community.
